Can I pick up prepaid tickets at the railway station when I arrive in Beijing?

I arrive in Beijing from Sydney on January 29 and I need to take the train to Tianjin straight away. It would be much easier for me if I was able to pick the ticket (traveling on my own) up at the the railway station when I arrive and then catch the subway to the station at Beijing Nan. Can this be done? Also how early can I book the ticket? i would be booking and paying for the ticket from Australia before I leave. The sooner I can book it the easier it will be to get back, knowing that it is the pre-New Year rush. I need to travel on that day as I will have people waiting to meet me at the station in Tianjin, but I need to get there first!

yes, you can.

you will arrive at Beijing Capital Interntional Airport, there is a railway ticket office in the airport where you can pick up your ticket. Or you can also pick up the ticket at the Beijing South Station.

The ticket is available 20 days in advance, but you'd better make an early reservation with your ticket agent, as you travel during the Spring Festival Rush, when ticket will be very difficult to buy. You can consult the ticket agent in advance.

as there are many trains running from Beijing to Tianjin daily, you are advised to book the train at least 3 - 4 hours after your arrival to leave enough time for you to pass the customs, pick up your luggage, collect the ticket, get to the railway station, and enter the station. As it is the Spring festival, you have to wait in long queues at every above mentioned step.

Wish you a smooth trip!
