About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, I wish to fly from London to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and from KL to Shanghai for 3 days. Then wish to fly to Kuala Lumpur for a few days before returning to London. Can I use the 72 hour visa service or do I have to apply one from London?
