About:Beijing Capital Airport T1

I am Austrian and will arrive at Beijing airport coming from Bangkok, going further to Germany a few hours later.

Is there a transit area at the airport where I can stay inbetween, avoiding all the visa problems?

Yes, there is transit area for your transfer. Actually, for passengers whose transit duration is within 24h, as long as they don't get out the airport, no visa is needed. Don't worry!
