we family of 6 will be visiting beijing in 31/10-6/11 and will be staying in Holiday Inn Express Minzuyuan, can we take a walk to the bird nest and water cube? can my kids swim in the water cube? how much the ticket cost for 4 adults and 2 kids?

Well, your hotel is 2-2.5km from the Bird Nest and Water Cube, so it may take a little long by walking. It is ok to swim in Water Cube for your family. It costs CNY50 per person and there seems no discount for kids.
