We want to spend 3days in hong kong then 3days in macau then the 7th and last day back to hong kong because we may need to fly from hong kong. Do we need tourist visa? You are allowed free entry to HK for 14 days, and Macao for30 days, but I am not sure if you are allowed reentry to HK from Macao. So, you are suggested to try to contact HK immigration department directly or Chinese embassy for more details.
