About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa to transfer planes in Beijing?

I am flying from Vancouver, Canada, to Hong Kong via Beijing. The lay-over is only a few hours. Can my luggage be done direct from Vancouver to Hong Kong or do I have to clear customs in Beijing?

First of all, visa is not required if the stopover is only a few hours. If it is less than 24 hours, you can go directly without informing your airline about this free transit.

About your luggage, you are suggested to contact your airline for details, as I know, it will be done direct to HK.
