JOURNEY TO KUNMING

I REACHED KM AT 5PM, IS IT BETTER TO GO TO LIJIAN BY TAKING NIGHT TRAIN OR BUS? THEN TO SHANGRI-LA AND BACK TO DALI AND KM? 8 DAYS ENOUGH TO COVER ALL THE JOURNEY? WHICH IS MORE CONVENIENT? BUS OR TRAIN ? ANY SHOPPING MALL OR NIGHT MARKET IN THESE TOWN ?

Lijiang, right? Well, either train or bus can be ok, but you have more choices by train. By bus, after 17:00, there is only bus in service for the journey, leaving from the West Bus Station at 20:30 with sleepers.

From Lijiang to Shangri-la, it is suggested to take the direct bus between. There are direct buses between Shangri-la and Dali and it takes 7-8h. From Dali to KM city, you can take train or bus to travel.

Generally, 8 days are enough for your travel at these places and the bus or train journeys may take much time on the way.

As for shopping, I am just familiar with KM. The local Nanping Street should not be missed. To experience the night market in the city, Xiangyun Street is recommended.
