About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

What is needed to transit through Chinese airports?

Hello. I am looking to travel to Vietnam. I am a US citizen but my wife has a Vietnam Passport. What is needed for her to transit through either Beijing or Guangzhou airport? We do not plan to leave the airport. Thank you.

If you both stay less than 24 hours in the airport, she has no need to apply for any type. If you stay longer than 24 hours, then she has to apply for a transit type one in advance before she comes to Beijing.
