Can i study with Z (working) visa?

I am planning to work in China at least for 2 years, i already got Z and very soon i will start working , but at the same time i got scholarship for PhD from CSC... i know that student who has X cant work, but in my case can i study? i would like to study and work at the same time...but only if its not against the law. Thank you!
