About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Is there an upper age limit for the temporary work permit? If yes - are there any exceptions?

I have held a temporary work permit for over 3 years in China. My next assignment is outside of mainland, after which I want to come back. In the meantime I will turn 60. Are there any age restrictions for foreigners? If yes are there any exceptions?

Yes, upper age limit is 65 for male. As I know, there is exceptions for highly skilled specialists or the talented people whom China are in need of urgently.
