About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

We'll have a 12 hour layover at Chengdu airport on Nov 4, 2013. Can we use the free transit policy?

We will arrive from Kathmandu then go on to Ulaan Baator, Mongolia via Beijing on Nov 5th and are US citizens. Does anyone know when CTU airport will allow this free transit policy? ("a few months later" than Aug 1, 2013 means what??) Thanks for any help.

Chengdu was approved as the fourth city (after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou) where the 72 hours free transit policy was carried out. According to the news report, the policy will be implement from September. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any official report.

Thanks, Jenny for the info. I accidentally pushed "thumbs down" instead of a point for thumbs up-sorry web engineers! This site is really helpful.
