About:China Customs Declaration

Hi, when I leave China if I declare I have something valuable on me, will it be confiscate?

I am talking about this gift my son got from his grandparents (a heavy gold bar, yes real gold in bar form).

Generally, it will not be confiscated. Just if it exceeds certain weight, you need to declare and have to pay some tax.
