About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

What type of Visa do I need if on a cruse ship?

Cruising on an Holland America ship to China, will have two days in Xingang, one day in Qingdao, two days in Shanghai and two days in Hong Kong.

You need to apply for a double entry tourist L, because visa is not required for a short visit less than 24 hours. So, you just need a double entry, one for Xingang, the other entry for Shanghai. You are exempted from it to HK.
