When visiting friends and staying with them, how many times can I apply to extend my stay in China?Also, how long is each extension under this circumstance?

The accumulated length of extension shall not exceed the original duration of stay specified in the visa. So, if you get an L for 30 days, you can only extend it once with 30 days at most.
