Purchasing a return airline ticket to get a tourist visa to go to China next month

When I am purchasing a return airline ticket to get a tourist L, can I make the return date within 3 months or must it be 1 month? Thanks

Hi, the return date should be within 1 month, because the single entry tourist L is issued with 30 days at most as duration allowed to stay.
