is manual pakistani passport is acceptable?

Hi,
I am currently residing in shenzhen and i have been living here for past 9 years. i am married with a chinese girl and have a child as well. I wanted to make a MRP (machine readable passport) this year but due to the crises there, i fear to even intitiate this process. My current passport (manual)is still valid with valid Z visa. I would like to know if i keep my manual passport till 2015, will it create any kind of trouble here?
