Is a visa required for airport stopovers of 6 hours in Guangzhou and 4 hours in Urumqi?

I am flying from Auckland to Ashgabat in Turkmenistan on China Southern Airlines. I have airport stopovers in Guangzhou (6 hours) and Urumqi (4 hours). Is it required? I will not be leaving the airport.

No, it is not necessary if your stopover in total is less than 24 hours.
