About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Los Angeles to New Delhi with a 1 day stopover in guangzhou

I am flying from Los Angeles to New Delhi with a 1 day stopover in guangzhou by China Southern. I hold US Passport. When & Where do I need to apply for the transit visa? Is there a fee? Can I visit the city? Thanks!

You will need to fill a form/card when you check in your flight from Los Angeles, so that the airline is able to send your information to Guangzhou airport. The transit permit will be granted upon arrival free of charge.
Or, if your layover is less than 24 hours, you can simply apply for a stay permit after arrival at the airport.
