Hello, i am a german citizen currently staying in china for three months. I have a single entry F type and i am planning going to Tokio for 3 Days. Within this Time i want to apply for an L type for another 30 Days Stay in China. What do i need for this and how do i get it and where?Thanks.

Your F type expires when you go to Japan. You can try to apply for a new L type from the Chinese embassy in Japan. But the process might be a bit complicated since you need to apply via a designated local travel agency. If possible, you may fly to HK and apply for it there.

Hi Simon, thanks for the quick response. Do u happen to have a name from a travel agency that does stuff like this? Because going to Hong Kong would be very complicated and i would lose a lot of time. And do i have to apply for it while im still here in china or can i do it while im there?

Hi,you can try to extend your F with one more entry at local PSB before leaving for Japan. Time may not enough if you will stay in Japan for 3 days only.
