About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Pyongyang - Beijing - Hong Kong

We are two Irish citizens who plan to travel from Pyongyang - Beijing - Hong Kong. Can we avail of this visa because Hong Kong is a separate region of China, or do we need to obtain a G Transit visa.

Also, does it matter that that we will not be flying on the same airline for the first and second flights?

Yes, you can enjoy 72 hours free tranist in Beijing. It doesn't matter if your fly on different airlines. Just make sure that you have onward air ticket for HK.
