About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

U.K. Beijing-Pyongyang-Beijing-U.K.

We intend flying non stop from U.K. to Beijing and after 2 days on to Pyongyang. 3 days in Pyongyang and back to Beijing for another 2 days before returning non stop to U.K. I presume this itinerary qualifies for Visa free travel, would you kindly advise, thank you.

Yes, this itinerary definitely qualifies for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area twice. Of course, both of your legs to and from Pyongyang have to be accomplished by plane because a train from Pyongyang to Beijing requires a visa.

You should keep in mind to ask from your travel agency that will organize your North Korean trip, to ensure that you are able to present a confirmation of your flight tickets for North Korea already at check-in in UK! This is very important detail. You should tell to your agency that you intend to travel by using 144 hour visa free transit!
