About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travelling from Sydney to London via Guangzhou airport

My son is travelling on 1st July he has 16 hours at Guangzhou airport. Can he stop at the hotel on the airport complex without a visa, and if so does he need any other documents apart from his British passport?

Hi, visa is not required. His passport and onward ticket to London are enough.

Thank you. I have just seen on CS Airlines website that he is entitled to free B&B. I have rung them and been assured this is true. Don't know what the accommodation will be like though!
