Are bicycle LITHIUM batteries allowed as checked baggage?

I want to buy a "conversion kit" to convert a normal bicycle into a electric bicycle. The battery is not lead-acid but LITHIUM. Can it go in the plane I will be travaling with AIR CANADA as a checked luggage. It is a case 70cm x 70cm x 30cm with a weight of 15 kg.
Thanks for your help.

Whether it can be taken depends on the capacitance, say, 160Wh or somethings. As I know, it generally can only be taken as carry-on luggage, but forbidden to be taken as chekced luggage.

Anyway, I'm afraid such large and heavy lithium would be refused. Well, there are detailed reglations about lithium on the official webiste of Air Canada. You can check on.
