About:Huanglong National Scenic Reserve

Plan to visit Huanglong on the 10 June 2013. Is the walk there difficult?

We have 2 elderly in our group. We plan to walk up, easier to the knees, then take the cable car down. How many hours will that be if we walk up slowly? Are the steps steep or just like normal steps? I also heard that its the rainy seaons. Will we be able to see the scenary when its raining or it would be a waste of time? What is your opinion, Taking the cable car up & walking down or vice versa? Thanks

Hi, it may be a little difficult to the elderly to climb considering the route condition and high altitude. However, if they are generally healthy enough and have regular sports in daily life, they may try that. If feeling it is not easy to breath on the way, they can take mini oxygen bottle or buy some along the journey.

Genrally, it takes around 4h or a little long to climb up. In my opinion, the scenery in rainy days is not that beautiful than normal days.

To my experience, it is better to take cable car up and walk down.
