Does a South African passport holder travelling to Hong-Kong and a day trip to Guanzhou need a viza?

I will be travelling to Tokyo via Honh-Kong to Spend a few days there. Would like to do a day trip from Guanzhou, do i need a visa as I have established that for Hong_kong South African Passport Holders do not require one?
