About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

If I'm a South Australian resident, can I apply a visa to china by post?if so to which consulate?

the post/online application service seems only available to the Eastern states. If I reside in SA, does this mean the only way to get one is by going to Canberra TWICE (hand-in and collect passport?). I sincerely hope this is not the case!!

Yes, you can apply from the Chinese embassy in Canberra by post. It takes 10 working days and only Express POST and Registered POST from the Australian POST are acceptable.
