application when tourist in Bangkok ?

Dear Sirs,
I will be on holiday in Thailand as from next week. I don't have enough means and time to get the Visas on time.
I will have to take my 2 month old son and my girlfriend (who live in France) two times to Paris within 5 days (2240kms) and I have to go 2x to Bern because my address is in Switzerland (840km). As you can see, it's not convenient and very costly for a 3 day visit of my friend in Shanghai.
I will be staying over a week in BKK, so would the Chinese embassy in BKK let us get one?
I'd love to go there once in my life as my grand parents come from there.
