Do I need a visa for Beijing Visit?

What documentation do me and my daughter need to travel from U.S.A. to Hong Kong then Hong Kong To Beijing for two days then back to Hong Kong for 7 days then back to U.S.A. My son lives in Hong Kong an said they changed the requirements for Beijing and you do not need a visa. Is that true?

Well, you have to apply for a L type for your visit in Beijing. I assume that he refers to the '72 hours free transit in Beijing'. But you don't meet the requirments for the 72 hours free transit policy.
