Question

About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Can my son be granted a L for Family visiting, but my new Chinese wife is not his mom.

I'm divorced, my ex is Filipino, my son's custody was granted to me and he lives with me in China. I will marry a girl here.

So my question is IF someday I were to move from a Z (Resident Permit) to a Marriage Visiting L, then what type would my son be granted? Could he also get a visiting L even though he isn't Chinese, he only apart of my marriage to a Chinese girl.

My worst fear is my son not being granted an L to stay with us.. I'm sure I can't get him tourist L forever until he's 18 teen. That would be crazy.

Can anyone help us with an honest answer please?

Hi Jonny, as far as I know, the family visit L is issued to children under the age of 18 of a Chinese citizen or a foreigner who has obtained the Foreigner's Permanent Residence Permit in China. Anyway, you are eligible to get marriage visiting L if you get married with a Chinese.
