BJ is really a worthy destination in China, but I don't think it is necessary to spend such a long time there. Generally, it is suggested to stay there for 4-5 days. After that, you can go to Shanghai, Hangzhou or Xian for a visit. Here is my general suggestion:

BJ trip:
D1: Tiananmen Square and surroundings comes first. After that, you can walk to Forbidden City to have a visit. In the afternoon, Temple of Heaven is suggested.
D2: You can go to Badaling Great Wall or Mutianyu Great Wall. On the way back, you can view the Bird Nest (National Stadium) and Water Cubic, where the 2008 olympic events were held.
D3: It is recommended to visit Summer Palace first. In my opinion, it deserve a full morning to enjoy. In the afternoon, you can go to the Hutongs to experience the rickshaw riding and the local people's life. At nights, you can go to National Centre for the Performing Arts for relaxation.
D4: You can go to the Sacred Way and the Ming Tombs for a visit. After that, go back to the town to wander around the famous Wangfujing Pedestrian.
D5: If you are interested in shopping, the Xidan, Dongdan and Silk Market (Xiushui Street) can be good choices.

After the trip, you can take a hugh-speed train to Xian, where you can spend 2 days. The Terracotta Warriors Museum and Huaqing Hot Spring Pool are suggested at the fist place. Besides, the Tang Paradise, Big Wild Goose Pagpda, City Wall, Muslim Quarter and Big Mosque are suggested.

Then you can fly to Hangzhou to stay there for one day to enjoy the West Lake and other destinations by cycling. At night, take a high-speed train to Shanghai, where there are famous the Bund, Huangpu River, Oriental Peal Tower, Yuyuan Garden and Nanjing Road Pedestrian. Well, after visiting, it is easy to catch a bullet train back to BJ if you are leaving from BJ.

Thank you very much Mr. Steve. I had been to Shanghai and Dalian. This time I want to spend all the days in and arround Bejing. I love see places and taking pictures. You have good information about China. I even like to go to interior places where there is something unusual to see.
Have a pleasant day.
Thank you very much Mr. Steve.
