Hello,I am PhD student in Korea. My friend is coming to China in 2013.05.19 till 013.05.26 for a conference. I would like to visit with my friend. I guess I need to apply for a L type for one week. As I read the web site: Non-Korean applicants in South Korea are required to provide the alien registration card in South Korea (ARC) with at least 6 months remaining validity. My problem is that my D-2 student type will be expired on 2013.09.01. I contacted the immigration office for extension but they answered that I need to provide some documents from university for the next semester and the university officer said that it is not possible since we are in the middle of this semester and I should wait until end of this semester.Would you please kindly help me to solve this problem.Thank you so much in advance

Hi, you may need to contact a local travel agency for the latest information. I heard that some agencies are able to get visa with ARC valid for less than 6 months.

No, the embassy does not accept application directly submited by applicant. You are required to apply through a travel agency.
