Transit through Beijing from USA to Singapore

Hi I'm planning on coming from Singapore through Beijing on the way to the USA. I have an American passport. I was planning on staying 35 hours in Beijing. What do I need to do in order to get the free transit?

Hi, your valid passport and ticket to USA are enough for application.

You should inform your transit request to the airline you take on your way to Beijing. They will report this to the Chinese airport immigration. After arrival at the airport, you can go directly to the immigration transit counter and get the free transit permit issued within minutes.
