About:Chinese Consulate in Melbourne

Can I travel to Hong Kong with a British passport that with expire in FIVE months?

Is the six-month validity date on the passport a strict rule for all travelers, from all countries? Does it apply to British passports?

The six-month validity on the passport applies to those who want to apply for Chinese visa. British people with valid passports can stay in HK for 180 days. It doesn't mention six-month validity. If you are worried about it, please contact the HKSAR Immigration Department on telephone 00852 2824 6111.
