My passport will be expired on 1 Oct 2014 and I have a "L-Visa which expire on 15 Jan 2014. Can I still travel to China with less than 6 month validity.. Please advise before I book my ticket.

If you L is valid until 15 Jan, that means you can enter before or on that very date. Sure your passport is ok for entry then as it has almost 9 months left. I am confused why you said with less than 6 month validity.
