About:Songshan Mountain

Itinerary for Song Shan visit

Hi, could you help me with the itinerary for visit of Song Shan for me and my friends? We want to arrive to Luoyang or Zhengzhou first day morning and stay two nights in Dengfeng. Next, third day evening, we will continue from Luoyang or Zhengzhou to the south. During thees three days we want to see Longmen Grottoes, Shaolin Temple and Song Mountain. We are interested also about a moderate mountain hike. How best we should use our time and what else we will have time to see and we should not miss. Thanks

You can reach Zhengzhou and it is not necessary to go to Dengfeng.
1st day: from ZZ Central Bus Station near the local railway station, you can take the direct buses for Shaolin Temple directly. After finishing the temple, you can go to hike the Songshan. Sanhuangzhai and Songyang Academy are worth seeing on the montain. One day is enough for you to cover these places.
Then you can stay another night in Dengfeng.
2nd day: In the early morning, go to Dengfeng Bus Station to take buses for Luoyang. If you visit that city recently or in May, the Peony is the must-see. Then you can to to White Horse Temple to have a visit. At night, you can go to the Old Street to have a look. Then stay one night in this city.
3rd day: Early in the morning, you can go to local railway station where you can find bus 81 take you to reach the Grottoes. The grottoes takes you about 3 to 4 hours to visit and then you can take bus 81 to reach Guanlin Temple to have a look. Then you can take the same bus to go back to the city center.
