I intend to travel to Taiwan in December. What is the weather like? Is it typhoon season?

Generally, it can be warm, with the average temp of 16C during Dec. You can take along a coat and jeans. For cool nights, maybe a light sweater can be of help.
Don't worry! It will not be during the typhoon season. However, you may meet the rainy days. Just pay attention to the weather forecast in case an umbrella or rainy gear is needed.0
