As far as I know, some of the restaurants are open 24 hours, while some close a little early. What kind of food do you want to eat?
To reach Tiananmen and Forbidden City from Wangfujing area? If so, I think you can walk to reach. If you cannot find the direction, you can ask local people directly and I am sure they will tell you.
From your hotel? Which hotel do you live? Generally speaking, you can find local subway line 5 to reach Tiantan East Gate Station directly. For summer palace, it is a little bit far. From Wangfujing, you can go to Wangfujing Station to take subway line 1 to reach Fuxingmen Station where you can change to line 2 to reach Xizhimen Station. Then you can change to line 4 to reach Beigongmen Station. Get out of the station, you can easily find the summer palace. It takes around an hour.
To Badaling, you can take a taxi to reach Deshengmen West to take bus 919 to reach Badaling. From Deshengmen to the wall, it takes around an hour.
From your hotel, your can walk to reach Wangfujing Station to take line 1 to reach Xidan Station where you can change to line 4 to reach South Railway Station to take bullet trains for Shanghai.
It is hot in BJ and Shanghai. It will be cool on Huangshan and it is suggested to take a long sleeved coat in case of the sudden rain.
