Am I eligible for the 3 day free transit at Shanghai airport?

I am flying into Shanghai and boarding a British cruise ship 2 days later? The cruise ship stops at another Chinese city the next day before sailing to Osaka, Japan.

Sorry, you can't enjoy the 72 hours free stay in Shanghai. The policy applies to those who take flight only.
