About:Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport

Is Xiamen airport open 24 hrs? what can you do with a layover time of 23 hrs?

Could you get out of airport and tour the city and be back at the airport for your onward flight? Are there any reasonable hotels around the airport?

I heard the airport will close after the arrival of the last flight. As for your case, you may have to apply for a China visa in advance. Then you can get out to stay in a hotel or for a short trip.

As for the accommodation around, Hejia Hotel and Seven Day Inn are suggested. Both of them are within walking distance. Or you can go to the downtown to check in.

Yes, Lisa is right. You need to apply for a visa in advance. And you can check in any hotel in the downtown or hotels if you can ensure you have fast ground transportation any time to the airport.
