About:Hong Kong Visa Application

Visa requirement for Vietnamese National Married to European Union Passport Holder

My wife (a vietnamese national), and I (European Union pasport Holder), and our daughter would like to travel to Vietnam in Sept 2013. My wife as 1 year travel visa for for the United States - will my wife require a visa to travel through Hong Kong on our way to Vietnam? We would be flying from Bermuda, to USA - and then from USA to Vietnam (transiting overnight in Hong Kong). If we require a visa how should we apply given we live in Bermuda where there is no Chinese Embassy

Your wife does not need to apply for a HK visa if she remains within the airport transit area.

Cameron, You are right but better to check with HK Immigration. They are vert restricted for Vietnamese passport holder. I am going to Taipei in Sep 2013 and transit from HK to Taipei and waiting for the flight at HK airport is 2 hours. I have checked HK IMMIgration website and they have mentioned about Transit visa???
email them immd.gov.hk|enquiry

Michael,

HK government dont like Vietnamese at all. So very hard to obtain a HK visa. I think your wife doesnt need it if she still within transit area(as long as not checking out at HK custom IMMI). I am on same boat as ur wife. I have sent HK IMMI an email to double checked.
