Visa-Free to Shanghai?

I am on a US passport, my husband is on an Australian passport. We will be visiting Macau & want to fly to Shanghai for 2 nights before returning to Macau and then back to the US. Do we qualify for visa-free entry? If so, what is required when we arrive at the airport in Shanghai?
Thanks!

Visa is required if you fly as Macao - Shanghai - Macao. If you have confirmed flight ticket to US leaving within 72 hours, then visa is exempted.
