It takes around five hours and a half.
The soft and hard sleepers are facilities on the ordinary trains instead of bullet trains.
The hard and soft sleepers may costs around twelve to thirteen hours on the way, but most of these trains leave for Xian at evening or night and reaching in the next morning, so it will not effect your journey.
I usually use the ordinary trains, so that I can enjoy the real train life of Chinese people.
