I think you mean Chang'an, the then capital of China. There were several routes to Kashgar. The main route is Chang'an - Hexi corridor - southern foot of Tianshan Mountains - Ruoqiang, Turpan , Korla, Kuqa, and Aksu to Kashgar.0
