Applying for Chinese visa from in a third country?

Hi,
I am a Ukrainian citizen I need to get one, but I am outside of my country. Can I apply for the visa online? Or can I apply for it from the embassy in the country (Jordan) which I am visiting right now without having a permanent residence in this country?
