About:Hong Kong Octopus Card

My friend and I will be traveling from the States to HK for 5 days. We do not have a set gameplan of sights to see...

but we plan on taking in tourists attractions, BARS, shopping, Disneyland... Does any have a recommendation on how to travel for those 5 days? I find a lot of this information on the Octopus Card slightly confusing... we solely need transportation. Any info would be GREATLY helpful. (And while this may not be the appropriate forum... if anyone has any recommendations on lodging/areas for a couple early 30 year olds... that'd be awesome!)

Hi, as you wanna go for shopping, bar enjoying and sightseeing, here is my general suggestion to all your requirements:
D1: Ngong Ping 360 and Giant Buddha - Citygate - Temple Street Night Market
D2: Disneyland - Central - Causeway Bay - lan Kwai Fong (bars and clubs)
D3: Ocean Park - the Peak (Madame Tussauda' and the peak tower) - Victoria Bay
D4: Wong Tai Sin Temple - Avenue of Stars - Ladies' Street - China Harbor Shopping Malls
D5: Kowloon Park - Tsim Sha Tsui surrounding shopping malls - Convention and Exhibition Center

And what are you confused for about the transportation card? As for your 5-day travel, I suggest you get a standard card, which can be used on bus and MTR. When you return the card, you can get your refund.

Well, as for your accommodation, it's suggested to stay near Tsim Sha Tsui, where the transportation is easy to catch and it is convenient to reach nearby attractions. You can go and find a suitable one near Chung King Mansion.

Regarding Octopus Card and transportation, you have to purchase an Octopus Card because I don't think they accept cash on bus or ferry.
