About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

DOES HONG KONG COUNT AS A "THIRD" COUNTRY FROM SHANGHAI?!

Hi everyone

1 question, wondering if you guys could help:

I am going to be in Shanghai for 48.5 hours before another flight to Hong Kong...does Hong Kong in this case count as "third" country so that I can be eligible for the VISA waiver?!

Any advice would be appreciated!

Yes, HK is Special Administrative Region of PRC, it is counted as the third region from mainland China. You can use this free transit in Shanghai, but make sure report your transit request to the flight you take in advance.
