6 month validity on passport??

I am looking at flying ZRH-PVG-AKL with a 12 hour layover in PVG (Shanghai). Am I still eligible for the Visa Free Transit if my passport has LESS than 6 months validity at time of entering/departing?

(I can't apply for a tourist one as I will be travelling in August and my passport expires in December).

It doesn't matter. You can enjoy the 24 hours transit free stay at the airport.
