Travel to Zhangjiajie from Guangzhou

I will be in Guangzhou end of March 2013. Planning to go ZJJ this time.

I noted that there's a high speed train from Guangzhou South Railway station to Changsha. From Changsha, is there any train to ZJJ?
If Yes, does it take a long time to wait for the connecting train? How long is the train journey from Changsha station to ZJJ station.
If No, I will need to take a bus from Changsha station to Zjj? How long is the bus journey?

How far is Guangzhou (Baiyun district) to Guangzhou South Railway station? How much is the taxi fare?

Hi, that's right. There arw some high-speed trains running from Guangzhou to Changsha. You will arrive at Changsha South Railway Station. After that, you need to go Changsha Railway Station to take the train to ZJJ, which takes about 5.5h. Generally, the connecting time depends on your trains' schedule.

Well, if you also wish to take bus to reach ZJJ direct. It is ok. You can take the bus from the Changsha Changzhutan Bus Station near the local railway station and the bus journey cost around 4 hours. The interval is about 40 minutes from 08:30 to 18:10 every day.

Actually, there are three fast trains running between Guangzhou and ZJJ, which takes about 13hours or longer. As well as the schedule the high-speed trains for connecting, you can search them all at the website:

As for the distance between Baiyun District and the local South Railway Station, Baiyun District is a large area. What is your current location by the way? Anyway, as I know, it is at least 22km between and the taxi fare would be about CNY70.
