About:China Transit Visa

Do I need a visa on a 21 hour layover in Nanjing, China???

I am flying JFK (NYC) to Shanghai with a 2 hour layover then to Nanjing, China with a 21 hour overnight layover that I would like to book a hotel for. Then I have a connecting flight to Sydney. Can I leave the airport and go to my hotel on my layover in Nanjing WITHOUT a visa?

If your flight will stop in two cities within China, you are suggested to apply for a transit visa in advance in USA. You can confirm this with your airline if possible or contact the hotel for details.
