what were the advantages and disadvantages of silk road in china?

As far as I know, no one think the Silk Road has disadvantages.
For the advantage, the most important one is on trading. It is an important road for Chinese and people from other countries to trade, which boost China and other states in ancient time to develop develop their economy.
Meanwhile, it boosted the interncultural communication between China and other countries.

That is not accurate information. The silk road had many disadvantages. Captivity, the spread of disease, and death.

disadvantages were, sandstorms, starvation, dehydration, treacherous terrains, and bandits. many people died on the silk road, it was nicknamed road of bones. Bones were everywhere
